I used to work for a market research company. They conducted what is known as focus groups. This revver clip of the “Chocolate Taste Test” reminded me of those focus groups. If you actually watch the clip, the volunteers are paid volunteers to taste chocolate. Of course, they are tasting chocolate at work. So, the volunteers from the newsroom is definitely getting paid

A side note though, companies routinely pay market research companies to collect information on consumer research. Companies are extremely interested in customer opinion, and consider consumer feedback extremely valuable.
