Chocolate: Chocolate Gifts
Thu 22 Nov 2007
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, we are going celebrate it at my sister’s house this year. This year is her turn to cook the turkey. We prepared the Thanksgiving feast last year. After Thanksgiving day is Black Friday.
We are going to wait in line at 5 in the morning to get a jump on the best bargains and deals. In fact, we are getting late start on Christmas shopping. In the past we started our Christmas shopping after Halloween. My sister and I are planning to go. My niece, and nephew are going to babysit while we go shopping.
In fact, I need to buy gifts for my boss, my co-workers in the office. I also need to buy for my kids, my nephew, and my niece. So I have plenty to do and little time to do it.
I am planning to get a box of Hershey’s Christmas chocolates for my boss. For my co-workers George, and Cindy, I am giving them each a box of Godiva Chocolates Holiday edition. For each of the members in my bookclub, I am going to purchase a large chocolate cake, and so they can sample it at the end of last meeting of the year. For my sister, she get is getting a chocolate gift basket. For my son, I am going to get him a delectable chocolate laptop; the edible kind. Finally for my daughter, she been begging me to get a dog. I’ll surprise her with a chocolate lab.
Last but not least, for my niece and nephew, I need to get them something special. I just don’t know yet. If any of my readers have any suggestions, please leave it in the comments.

What are the best chocolate gift for the holidays?

The end of the year is coming up fast. We have less than two months left. Now we go into shopping mode. When the going gets tough, the tough go shopping. Now is the the time to think about a gift. Chocolate is always good. Most of the time we give our friends, relatives, co-workers, chocolate gift baskets, or gifts of chocolates. My best friend loves gourmet chocolate, for Christmas this year, we will buy her a gourmet chocolate gift basket, most likely from Godiva. Godiva is her favorite.
If you think purchasing corporate chocolate gifts is to impersonal. What I mean by corporate chocolate gifts is gifts made by big corporations, or big companies. You can always make your own gift basket. My late husband Tom once posted on how to make a gift basket. It’s very informative. You can make a gift basket for all occasions including chocolate Christmas gift baskets.
Maybe a gift basket is not the right gift. In this case, some other options to consider include chocolate candy gifts, chocolate cookie gifts, and or even Vermont Teddy bear with a box of dark chocolates. If you buy just in time for Christmas, you can get 10% off at Vermont Teddy Bear! Enter coupon code ptr10d at checkout.
Chocolate Cookies, nuts, snacks, fruit & MORE maybe the right thing for your significant other, friends, or family. I know in our case, every person we buy a gift for is different. We go on a case by case basis. Most of the time, I talk to my daughter, she has come up with some great ideas.
Still need more inspiration? This is good advice, and is informative.

I miss the Duke dearly. We were at his funeral before I went on business travel last week. At his funeral, my brother in law, gave a memorable eulogy all about chocolate, and the Duke. We reflected on the good times, and the his legacy.
One particular time, I remember was one of our anniversaries. We were at dinner (just us, without the kids), the Duke gave me a memorable gift. It’s the thought that counts. He gave me a favor box place card holder with 4 pieces of chocolate. He was definitely creative, and I gave him a some chocolate casino chips. He definitely liked to gamble also. There were three priorities in his life, his family, chocolate, and gambling.
Now we no longer can enjoy trips to Las Vegas. We would take the kids to Las Vegas each summer. I going to definitely miss our times at Las Vegas. It’s just not the same without the Duke.
We Love You
