Can you imagine any other food providing the kind of sensuous delight, and comfort that chocolate can? Wine comes close to it but it’s not quite the same. Of course some us will debate that fact that wine / alcholic beverages much more sensuous and comforting beverage than eating chocolate can provide.

For me, the Duke of Chocolate, chocolate is always number 1. Nothing beats chocolate, bar none. That includes alcoholic beverages, and other vices such as smoking. At least, being a chocaholic won’t get you in trouble with the law. If you are an alcoholic there is a potential of DWI, and if you are addicted to smoking you have a chance of heart problems, and emphysema.

Scientists have attempted to find reasons for the popularity of chocolate. There is no rhyme or reason why chocaholics love the heavenly substance known as chocolate. Chocoholics just love eating the heavenly substance known as chocolate. Still we will attempt to explain the popularity of chocolate.

· The primary reason for its popularity is of course is its absolute delightful taste. No other sweets can come close to its taste. In fact nothing else can come close to it. The taste is absolutely unique.

· Chocolate exists in its many variations. You can have white chocolate or dark chocolate or even bitter chocolate. You can add a variety of nuts to change its flavor. You can even combine it with other flavors like strawberry to get other kinds of taste.

· Chocolate can be used as an ingredient for a variety of desserts. You can have cakes, pastries, biscuits, cookies and so many other things.

· Chocolate is easily available. You can find a bar of chocolate anywhere in the world - from the smallest shop to the biggest supermarkets.

· Chocolates can be given as a gift to anyone. You can give it to a child, a sweetheart or a friend. Even if you don’t have time to buy expensive gifts you can just get a box of chocolates for the person. The person will be happy. So the next time your significant other is pissed off, buy a box of chocolates, and a treat to a romantic dinner.
