Bought some thermite off of ebay. Used a butane jet lighter to ignite a propane welding torch, which was then used to ignite a strip of magnesium to set the thermite off. Awesomeness ensues.
WARNING: Do NOT try this at home. Thermite reactions are EXTREMELY dangerous.

I use the vanilla layer-by-layer method. Solve cross, corners, middle layer edges, last layer cross, corners.
I used a focused laser to set off a paper cap to light a propane torch to burn a piece of magnesium that I got from Ebay.
Please note that magnesium burns extremely hot and bright. Use metal tongs to hold it away from flammable surfaces and plastics, and never look directly into the flame. Fumes can be toxic.
