This is a miniature freshwater aquarium that I set up with Amphipods, Isopods and some small water insects. Amphipods and Isopods are crustaceans. While there have been many videos made of Sea Monkeys(i.e. brine shrimp) Amphipods seem to be much less known. Though in my opinion they can still be pretty interesting to observe. For all my videos, visit my website: http://www.kennethen gelhardt.net
the diatoms have spread, and the green hair algae has started to grow.
more and more of the organisms are starting to be active, including feather duster worms, the brittle stars, various bristleworms, and various types of copepods and amphipods.
in this clip you can see a glass anenome, then a feather duster worm and a small starfish next to each other.
Video showing a variety of creatures in my saltwater aquarium eating. Animals include: Emerald Green Mithrax crab, Ocellaris Clownfish, Peppermint Shrimp, Yellow Polyp corals, Bristle Worms and some Amphipods.
Amphipods and copepods make excellent food for picky eaters like seahorses. Mandarin gobies love them and they are essential to a reef tank adding biodiversity. Tanks can be seeded with them by introducing ~100 per 25 gallons or through the use of an upstream fishless refugium kept dimly lit.

I gave a water sample from my reef aquarium to a biology teacher from a near by high school. He took it to his classroom for his kids to look at under the microscope. The video is what the microscope recorded.
The only animal that I can identify is the amphipod. That's the big critter with the huge claws.
