Malaria kills around 3000 children every day, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa where the disease causes 20% of all child deaths and half of all hospital admissions. The Japanese Government has donated 10 million anti-malaria bednets to UNICEF, which could save 40 million lives over a period of 3 years.
