I didn't shoot this or edit this, but I was the subject of an interview by my good friend Aaron Hagenbugh for BU TV. I had nothing to do with the creative process...he chose all the stills and clips of my directing...so don't hold what you see against me... Unfortunately, when Aaron asks me questions, I can't give a straight answer...I babble on like a doofus. Oh well. Lesson learned. Enjoy

The Modern Age's most recent music video, released to promote their new EP, aptly titled "How to Start a War." The video features The Modern Age, and was directed, shot, and edited by Bryan Ghingold

This is a video I made for my (now ex) girlfriend when she wanted to learn Hebrew. I set it to Debbie Friedman's Aleph-Bet song. I touched it up so it looks nicer, because when I originally made it, I was working on it until 4 am, so I cut corners toward the end. Here is the "director's cut" if you will

This short was made to demonstrate and experiment with special effects and camera angles, including but not limited to squibs, underwater shots, circular shots, blue screen, chroma key, explosions, etc. It was the final project in my video editing class, and edited using Final Cut Pro. Props to Ben Estes, the special effects consultant.

4 renditions of the same clip, one at 100% speed, one at 75% speed, one at 50% speed, and one at 25% speed, to demonstrate a loss in quality the slower you remap the clip.

This was from a production of Singin' in the Rain, as performed by the Nuremburg Community Players in Nuremburg, PA. I was asked to film certain flashback and video sequences, then stylize them so they had a vaudeville/pre-golde n age of cinema feel to them. Comment and let me know what you think!

This is my final project for Photographic & Motion Principles for fall 2007. It was shot on film, which I then processed, transfered to digital, then edited. Working with film is a lot tougher than DV, but it is a truly magical and rewarding experience. Anyhoo, enjoy

This was our response to 9/11. It is campy, crappy and fun, so don't take it too seriously. It would be a lot funnier if I had uploaded our first movie, The Donovan Murder File, because then the character Ricotta Manicotti would make much more sense. Props to Dan, he took the real beating during my one man fight scene.

This is a movie I starred in and consulted on for a film making workshop at Bloomsburg University. Ashley Thomas came up with the concept, and we all refined it into what you see before you. The bulk of the editing was done by Nate Charles and myself. Let me know what you think!
I took some of your suggestions, suggestions from friends and family, as well as some things I just didn't like about the first cut, and I recut it, fixing some video, trimming some fat, and adding more layers to the audio. I hope you enjoy this as much as if not more than the first cut.
This is a promo I made for the Hillel JUC of Pittsburgh for their all student-run a cappella group, the VOKOLS. Back in March, they had a concert (featuring Penn State all female a cappella group Savoir Faire) which I shot and edited. This is the promo I cut for them, and for Hillel.
this is the first time in my life I ever shot on film. It predates "PULL FOCUS" by about 3 weeks, and it was a disaster. Half the film is unwatchable because it is just overexposed whitespace (don't worry, I trimmed it out). Anyhoo, here is my acclimation to the film medium. Enjoy
This is a 1m40s promo for the Hillel JUC in Pittsburgh, advertising the Birthright Israel trip. If you are interested in signing up, contact the Pittsburgh Hillel JUC http://www.hilleljuc .org
Inspired by the trailer for the remake of Funny Games, I re-cut a trailer to The Donovan Murder File set to "In The Hall of the Mountain King" I had limited footage to work with, I hope you enjoy it
