I caught the ALCo DL535 #111 blowing its horn and crossing the street on its way to pick up empties. It's a six axle unit with a Canadian Safety Cab, typical of Montreal Locomotive Works (MLW) built units.

The Ontario Southland is putting on a great show switching cars at Guelph Ontario. The throttle response is instantaneous, unlike GE and EMD. The sounds are great. This locomotive is sidelined at this time due to crank shaft failure. It MAY be repaired if funds alow. Ontario Southland Rwy 180-506 have a short train south of Guelph, Ontario. The train is rockin and rollin on the jointed rail. The RS18 is now out of service because of crankshaft failure. Plans are to replace the prime mover, but only funds become available. 10-3-2005
