I captured both a Union Pacific unit grain train, led by UP6596, and the Amtrak Texas Eagle(Train #22). Both were northbound on the Union Pacific DeSoto Sub in far south St. Louis, MO on June 17, 2007. The Amtrak train was running about 2 hours late.

Amtrak P42DC 162 pulls into La Grange, IL., with train number 380, the inbound Illinois Zephyr, for its station stop. This train is traveling down the BNSF Chicago Subdivision. The California Zephyr and Southwest Chief Amtrak trains don't stop here, but the Illinois Zephyr and Carl Sandberg trains do.

Amtrak P42DC #207 leads the inbound Texas Eagle from San Antonio, Texas to Chicago, Illinois, through Joliet, Illinois, down the CN Joliet Subdivision. A car nearly got clipped by the crossing gate. Even if the gates weren't completely down, the car had no reason to do what it did.
