The DLW had a combination of money from black diamonds and forward looking management that produced a great and impressive rail line. Here four current railroads companies and four different trains are involved on different sections of the old road (now DL,NS and CP own the track) making their own history. Steam and diesel action.
DL Alco RS3 pair 4103 and 4118 make a special freight run and meet up with NS at Slateford for a rare simultaneous delivery exchange in the yard. This team is still working freight after 50+ years.
Originally 1311 with the CV the RS 11 was moved from Winchester VA to DL trackage by Norfolk Southern. Then is hauled off by DL. Every locomotive is a different color.
With 2 Dash 9 40CW and one SD-60 for power the 132 car coal train still had to break up the train in Hudson yard and haul 66 cars up the challenging grade into Bangor.
