We took the kids to Niagara Falls and Marineland this summer for a wee vacation. My parents, a.k.a. Nanny and Papa came as well to supervise everyone. We all had a blast at the falls, around Niagara and at Marineland. It was so much fun, we went to Marineland twice in two days! As always, I tried to pair the videos with some fine music to set the mood. enjoy!
Connor and Duncan cranked up the old phonograph and played an old 78rpm of Peter and the Wolf. I added a few clips from the Disney animated short film to help tell the story.
Here is the video of when we decided to climb the mountain at Amentea to visit the ruins of the lookout tower.
There are ruins of similar towers all along the coast of Italy. When the tower watchmen would spot invaders, they would light their signal fire to notify the adjacent towers along the coast, who would light their fires, and so on, and so on.
This is our most ambitious project so far. Connor and Duncan transformed themselves into space warriors for the afternoon and fought battles on the green screen! They were inserted into a world of space stations, plasma rifles and warp drive, but it all comes to a tragic end on the rebel ship. Have a look and see what all of the cool Dad's did this summer!
Three generations of Thompsons went to see Monster Truck Extravaganza for Father's Day at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Here is the video I shot, along with some cool music to pump things up.
When I was a young teenager in 1977, I grabbed my Dad's 8mm movie camera and made a movie with my friends. 30 years later, I found it again! This time, I ran it through my computer, added some music, and now it is a gem! Presenting, the most forgettable movie of 1977, The Monster!
I took a trip of Hollywood movie homes. This was the house used for the original movie "Halloween" (1978) starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence.
On June 13th, 2007 we were fortunate to meet Rich Ralph on his rollerblade trip across Canada to raise money for cancer research. We saw Rich and his support team heading south on Richmond Road in Kanata, Ontario. (just outside Ottawa). You can track Rich on his cross country rollerblade trek at www.SeeTheEnd.com. Good luck Rich!
This year we went to the Canadian Aviation Museum for Canada Day. We saw a cool little airshow and everyone had lots of fun. We saw the Snowbirds, some vintage WWII aircraft flyovers and the Canadian Forces Sky Hawks parachute team. Who is the funnest Dad ever?
On New Year's Eve we took our young lads to the National Gallery of Canada to take in a little culture. They really enjoyed some of the works, but in particular, they enjoyed the giant baby. Not sure what I'm talking about? Watch the video of our outing to the National Gallery, and you will see! Oh, and it has an ending that little boys will love!
Duncan got a skateboard and safety equipment recently for his 4th birthday. He was good enough to take some time from Junior Kindergarten Base Jumping to give us a demo.
In 2005, for my 40th birthday, I treated myself to something I have wanted for years.... Buzz, my tattoo artist of choice was a good sport that day. These days, you can find him creating his artwork at Silverline Tattoo in Ottawa.
