If you keep exploring the Abandoned Ship... you will find a scanner, which you can trade with Captain Stern for two items that are the key to Clamperl's evolution.
Trade a Clamperl holding a DeepSeaTooth and it will evolve into Huntail. Trade one with a DeepSeaScale and it will evolve into Gorebyss. Both of them are really good water types.
