This was a rough test I did for a lightsaber effect for "Bring Back Star Wars" - the show itself will be on Channel 4 - Sunday 14th Sept at 9pm - watch it - it'll be AWESOME!!!! :D
This was a great project to work on, from the very first meeting with BBC Sport I came up with loads of ideas. From there I narrowed it down to a storyboard form, then joined the live action shoot, partly directing some of shots, as I knew I needed certain camera angles to match the CG F1 Ferrari that would be used later. I was left with only one direction at the end, do something cool!
Our college trip to Paris in the spring of 1995 - captured on video by Mike Scanlon and edited by myself using ONLY 2 VHS players, a stereo system and a pause button!!
During the last night of the FIFA World Cup 2006, at the IBC wrap party, the crowd were enjoying a little groove in the beer garden when all of sudden in stepped BBC's Match Of The Day Editor, Boulty to entertain the crowd, David Brent style! Go Boulty Go!!!
From early 2004 pilot work, Celedor won the commision to go ahead with the very first Oscar style football players award ceremony. I was asked to produce a stylish, filmic title sequence and also programme graphics in both SD and HD. The titles centre around the metallic award itself, built and animated in 3dsmax, then in composited with football footage in After Effects.
I came up with the idea for the title sequence as a journey through a bright and colourful celebrity city, with various historical and modern celebs in a varitey of different locations and scenarios. While my collegues created artwork, I focused on animating a 3d camera through a 3d built environment in After Effects, adding lighting, colour and detail to the final shots.
Using a combination of Illustrator and After Effects, I came up with various diagramatic scenarios depicting a selection of the wild and wacky subjects that are covered in this comedic look at the world of self-help / DIY videos, mostly from the US!
