The United States has had to defend itself and help its neighbors for 230 years, I figured the 1812 would be a quick way to cover most of it up to this year.(NOTE- this video is best viewed on the smallest setting,located bottom right of viewer). If you know your history well then the photo montage will appeal much more.

In June of 1994 I was a junior in high school and borrowed my band director's score of the 1812 Overture to add a little more to the abridged sheet music I already had. I rigged some electronic cannons using a drum machine, synthesizer and bass guitar amp, and performed the whole thing for my piano recital. It's far from perfect, mainly because I was nervous.
