As we walked through Mossman Gorge in the Daintree National Park, Far North Queensland, Australia, we discovered a Platypus foraging for food in the crystal clear waters. Platypus are rarely seen in the wild.
A ride in the elevator to the 77th floor of the Q1 Building, Views from the Observation Deck and then a fast ride down to ground level. The Q1, located in Surfers Paradise Queensland Australia, is the highest residential building in the Southern Hemisphere.
Enjoy the magnificent scenery of the New Zealand South Island. Part 1 (of 2 parts) was filmed in March 2008, and starts as we arrive at the interislander ferry terminal in Wellington and sail to the South Island. It shows the highlights of the drive via Nelson down the West Coast to Franz Josef Glacier. Part 2 shows the rest of the journey.
We flew from Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia, South to Point Danger then North along the Coast where we circled the Q1 Building (The highest Residential building in the Southern Hemisphere) then on to Main Beach, and followed the Nerang River back to the helipad.

Cooktown, with it's anchor and cannon recovered from the reef that wrecked Captain Cook's "Endeavour", fascinated us. Located in far north Queensland Australia, the fishing is great and the scenery is unique. A visit to the Museum and the historic cemetery was on our list, followed by an afternoon at the Fishermans Wharf to watch the barramundi being caught and the sun set.
The Resort is now closed for renovation. Great Keppel Island is located off the coast of Queensland, east of Rockhampton.It forms part of the Capricorn group of islands. A great place for a relaxing few days of fun.
Burleigh Heads is located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. When the conditions are good (which is most of the time), watching the board riders from the beachfront park at the end of Goodwin Terrace is a great way to enjoy the day.
Filmed in 1963, these 8mm scenes show us having fun on a sheep station out near St George in Western Queensland, Australia. The peaceful Maranoa River runs through the properties and provided cooling relief in the stifling summer heat of December. A welcome storm cooled the landscape and the fall was captured in the rain gauge.
